DMK to file Rs 1 crore defamation suit against TVK ministers over Veeramani case

The Madras High Court allowed the DMK to file a defamation suit seeking Rs 1.01 crore against ministers CTR Nirmal Kumar, Aadhav Arjuna, and the TVKs IT wing for statements linking the party to a POCSO case against Veeramani, owner of Gem Granites. ‘

The DMK claimed timely action was taken in the case and sought damages, injunctions, and removal of related social media posts. 

The ministers challenged the suit's maintainability. The court's order permits filing but does not rule on defamation or damages.
