Pre-Trial Conference in Case Against Yoshitha and Daisy Forest on 3 November

The Colombo High Court has ordered that the pre-trial conference in the case filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his grandmother Daisy Forest will be held on 3 November.

The case was taken up for hearing on 28 September 2026 before Colombo High Court Judge Rashmi Singapuli. Daisy Forest, who has been named as the second defendant in the case, was not present in court, while President’s Counsel Anil Silva appeared on behalf of the defendant. The lawyer informed court that his client was unwell and submitted the relevant medical report to court.

Thereafter, Senior Counsel Oswald Perera, appearing for the Attorney General, submitted that the first defendant had withdrawn the revision application filed before the Supreme Court against the prosecution.

Accordingly, he requested the court to permit the filing of an amended indictment and to fix a date for proceeding with the trial.
