CM Vijay asks PM Modi to retain 543 Lok Sabha seats

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to amend the Constitution to permanently fix the Lok Sabha strength at 543 members and retain current state-wise seat allocations. 

This request follows a Tamil Nadu Assembly resolution opposing delimitation changes that could reduce southern states' representation due to population control successes. 

The resolution also demands 33% reservation for women in upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, highlighting concerns over fairness and gender representation in electoral reforms.
