1 dead, hundreds of structures destroyed in wildfires

RCMP have confirmed the death of an 80-year-old woman as a result of the wildfire near Summerland.

Nearly 22,000 people across B.C. have been ordered to evacuate their homes, while more than 10,000 have been told to be ready to leave at a moment's notice.

Evacuation orders have been downgraded for hundreds of properties north of the Pear Lake wildfire near Clinton. Some evacuation orders and alerts have also been downgraded for the Bradley Creek fire.
