Sri Lanka to host AI Week 2026 in push for its $15bn digital economy goal
06-Aug-2026.
The second national artificial intelligence conference and exhibition, titled ‘Sri Lanka AI Week 2026’, will be held from September 28 to October 4.
This event is going to be held as part of the island nation's programmes to accelerate its transition toward a 15-billion-dollar digital economy, officials said.
Organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy in partnership with state-run telecommunications provider SLT-Mobitel, the week-long event will take place under the theme “AI Amplified”.
The initiative marks a pivot from the inaugural 2025 event, moving from basic technological awareness toward scaling artificial intelligence applications across key sectors including healthcare, agriculture, education, and finance.
