Former State Minister's Son Arrested Over Rs. 20 Million Theft from Chinese National

Police have arrested the son of former State Minister Shantha Bandara on charges of aiding and abetting the theft of Rs. 20 million belonging to a Chinese national.

According to the police, the arrest was made by officers attached to the Kollupitiya Police following investigations into the theft of approximately Rs. 20 million from the Chinese national. The suspect is 21 years old.

Further investigations are being carried out by a special police team led by Chief Inspector Lalith Silogama, Officer-in-Charge of the Kollupitiya Police Station, under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Lushan Sooriyabandara, who is in charge of the Colombo South Division.
