Abbotsford man found guilty of 2nd-degree murder in death of wife

An Abbotsford, B.C., man has been found guilty of second-degree murder after he killed his wife in her basement suite in March 2024 — just days after he arrived from India.

Jagpreet Singh was charged after the death of 41-year-old Balwinder Kaur on March 15, 2024, in a home on the 3400 block of Wagner Drive.

The offence of second-degree murder, according to the court decision detailing the case, would mean that Singh meant to cause Kaur's death, and was reckless about whether or not he caused death.
