The Medical Supplies Division has decided to recall three types of cardiac stents used in angioplasty procedures, citing concerns over patient safety.

The decision follows quality assessments and review data indicating serious issues regarding the effectiveness and safety of the stents. Hospitals have been instructed to immediately remove the affected stents from use and refrain from implanting them in patients.

The Medical Supplies Division has also directed health authorities and hospital administrators to assess remaining stocks and submit reports. The use of these stents has been completely prohibited until investigations are concluded.

Doctors have further been advised to closely monitor the health condition of patients who have already received these stents.
