Fresh complaints against Abhishek Banerjee over provocative remarks during polls

Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamool Congress national general secretary, faces a complaint in Siliguri accusing him of provocative remarks during the 2026 election campaign. 

Businessman Sanjay Kumar Singhal filed the complaint, alleging Banerjee's speeches on March 25, April 27, and an election rally, incited panic and political tension. The CID summoned Banerjee following an FIR lodged in Bidhanagar. 

Banerjee condemned alleged selective action, comparing it to earlier remarks by Amit Shah, promising to legally contest the charges amid changing state authorities.
