Temporary Power Outages Reported in Several Parts of the Country

Electricity supply was temporarily disrupted in Colombo and several other parts of Sri Lanka on May 30 due to an unexpected imbalance in the national power grid.
However, corrective measures were promptly implemented and power supply was restored by approximately 3 p.m.
Commenting on the incident, Minister of Power Anura Karunatilaka stated:
"The temporary power interruption in Colombo and several other areas was caused by a sudden imbalance in the national electricity grid. The outage was implemented as a precautionary measure to safeguard the grid and ensure system stability."
