Tree planting held to mark 60 years of Sri Lanka–Maldives diplomatic relations

Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka at the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, planted a sapling at the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo on May 4 to mark 60 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Upon his arrival at the park, President Muizzu was warmly welcomed by President Dissanayake. Children holding the national flags of both countries lined the roadside and paid tribute to the visiting Maldivian leader.
Several dignitaries, including Deputy Speaker Rizvi Salih, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Anil Jayantha Fernando, and Colombo Mayor Vraie Kelly Balthazaar, were present at the event.
