The City of Regina’s deputy city manager and chief financial officer, Daren Anderson, has resigned after 16 months in the role.

The city confirmed in an emailed statement to CBC that Anderson submitted his resignation, though no reason has been provided.

"Daren brought extraordinary expertise to his role and was instrumental in navigating two challenging budget cycles," the statement said. "We thank him for his hard work and wish him the best in his new opportunity."

Anderson was hired in January 2025. During his time with the city, he played a key role in delivering two of the highest property tax increases in Regina’s history.
