Nationals of four Asian countries account for 86.1 per cent of Kuwait's domestic workforce, according to statistical data released by the Public Authority for Civil Information.

The data show that workers from India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Bangladesh together account for 760,744 of Kuwait's total 883,308 domestic workers.

Indian nationals top the list, with 344,532 domestic workers, representing approximately 39 per cent of the total workforce. Their numbers are significantly higher than those of workers from any other country in the sector.

Sri Lanka ranks second, with 157,901 workers, accounting for 17.9 per cent of Kuwait's domestic workforce. The Philippines ranks third, with 151,369 workers, or 17.1 per cent, followed by Bangladesh, with 106,942 workers, representing 12.1 per cent.

Workers from these four countries account for more than eight out of every ten domestic workers in Kuwait. The remaining 13.9 per cent, or approximately 122,564 workers, come from other countries.

The figures also show that approximately four out of every ten domestic workers in Kuwait are Indian nationals, while the Sri Lankan and Filipino communities make nearly comparable contributions to the sector, with only a relatively small difference between their numbers.
