2 dead in collision near Bancroft

A collision on a highway west of Ottawa on August 16 has left both drivers dead.

It happened shortly after 5:15 p.m. on Highway 62 near Bancroft, about 220 kilometres west of Ottawa.

Both drivers were in their 40s. One was from Mount Brydges, a rural village in southwestern Ontario, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the OPP.

The other, from Wollaston Lake, was taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The collision remains under investigation.
