Woman, 82, dead after collision in Whitby

Durham police say an 82-year-old woman is dead after she was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a road in Whitby on Jan 9.

In a post to social media Jan 10, the Durham Regional Police Service said officers responded to a collision at Brock Street N. and Mary Street W. at approximately 1:15 p.m.

According to Durham police, the pedestrian was transported to a Toronto-area hospital in life-threatening condition, where she later died.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, Durham police added.
