One man is in custody after two people were killed near Grande Prairie, Alta. early morning on Dec 27.

Alberta RCMP arrested a 42-year-old man after issuing a dangerous person alert for northwestern Alberta around 11:30 a.m. In the alert, he was described as armed and dangerous, having already fired on multiple individuals. 

He was said to be on the run in a black truck.

Police say the suspect and the deceased were known to each other and there is no ongoing danger to the public.

Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating.
