The funeral of Shoaib Akhtar's brother in Islamabad attracted attention as Lashkar-e-Taiba ‘terrorists’, including deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri, attended. Kasuri is linked to deadly attacks in India, including the 2025 Pahalgam attack. 

LeT's political front, PMML, also participated. This public presence highlights Pakistan's ongoing support for anti-India terror groups and their influence within Pakistan. India responded to the Pahalgam attack with military actions and suspended the Indus Waters Treaty.
