Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned amid student protests over NEET exam irregularities, aiming to prevent misuse by anti-national forces. His resignation was accepted by President Murmu, and Pralhad Joshi was appointed to hold additional charge of the Education Ministry while retaining his other portfolios.

Joshi pledged humility and dedication, acknowledging Pradhan's role in implementing the National Education Policy. The Cockroach Janta Party ended its 49-day protest after government assurances to withdraw FIRs, following negotiations with officials.
