Tamil Nadu revokes preventive detention order against Savukku Shankar

The Tamil Nadu government revoked the preventive detention of YouTuber and political commentator A Shankar, alias Savukku Shankar, under the Tamil Nadu Goondas Act after the Advisory Board found no sufficient cause to continue his detention. Detained since April 9, Shankar was released following the government's May 19 order. 

This revocation came just before the Madras High Court was set to hear his challenge. Earlier, the court granted him bail in a related case, emphasizing the balance between liberty and investigation.
