Saudi Ambassador Bids Farewell to Prime Minister

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sri Lanka, Khalid Hamoud Nasser Al-Qahtani, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees on the completion of his diplomatic tenure.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Prime Minister commended the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia and the continued cooperation between the two countries across a range of sectors.
She also expressed gratitude to the Government of Saudi Arabia for its prompt humanitarian assistance extended to Sri Lanka in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah. The Prime Minister further appreciated the Kingdom's continued support for Sri Lanka's education sector through Saudi-funded development initiatives.
Ambassador Al-Qahtani thanked the Sri Lankan Government for the close cooperation and support extended to him during his tenure. He reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia would continue to stand by Sri Lanka and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the years ahead.
Both sides also reiterated their shared commitment to further enhancing the longstanding bilateral relationship and expanding cooperation for mutual benefit.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Deputy Ambassador Yasser Al-Hashemi, the Ambassador's Secretary A.C.A. Masahir, Prime Minister's Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister Sagarika Bogahawatte, and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
