Prime Minister Harini Meets Indian Vice President

Bilateral discussions between Indian Vice President Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya were held on 19 April at Temple Trees, during the Vice President’s two-day official visit to Sri Lanka.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya extended a warm welcome and conveyed her congratulations to Mr. Radhakrishnan on his appointment as Vice President of India.

Noting that this was his first official visit to Sri Lanka, the Indian Vice President expressed appreciation for the cordial welcome and hospitality extended to him.

The Indian delegation included Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, MPs Dr. K. Lakshman and Dr. Medha Vishram Kulkarni, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha, along with senior officials.

The Sri Lankan delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Minister of Sports Sunil Kumar Gamage, Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj, Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Harshana Suriyapperuma, and Secretary to the Ministry of Education Nalaka Kaluwewa, among others.
