Pak Army guns down 16 protesters
13-Jun-2026.
In Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir's Rawalakot, at least 16 protesters were killed and over 37 injured when Pakistani Army and Rangers fired on a large rally protesting economic hardships, electricity tariff hikes, and denial of political rights.
The unrest follows the banning of the Joint Awami Action Committee and intensified crackdowns including arrests, internet blackouts, and movement restrictions. Despite brutal repression, protest leaders vow to continue demanding basic rights and economic relief.
India condemned the killings as a massacre and called for international accountability.
