IOM Provides Financial Assistance to 4,000 Families Affected by Cyclone Ditwah

As Sri Lanka continues to recover from the severe impact of Cyclone Ditwah, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has provided financial assistance to 4,000 affected families across seven districts.
The programme, implemented with support from the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society and in coordination with the Government of Sri Lanka, concluded with the distribution of aid in Puttalam District.
More than 4,000 families in Puttalam, Badulla, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle and Kandy districts received financial support to repair damaged homes and purchase essential household items.
Beneficiaries were selected based on the extent of damage sustained to their homes during the cyclone.
