Union Minister Nitin Gadkari urged India's automobile industry to accelerate the shift from diesel and petrol engines to cleaner, indigenous alternatives like biofuels, citing economic and environmental challenges from fossil fuel dependence.

Emphasizing quality over cost, he called for higher manufacturing standards in the bus sector, which currently lags global benchmarks. With rising demand, especially for electric buses, Gadkari highlighted the need for pollution-free, safe, and reliable transportation to modernize India's mobility infrastructure.
