Ven. Rahula Thera, Custodian of the National Namal Uyana Forest Park, has called on all political parties to work together to rebuild the country instead of remaining divided along political lines.

Speaking to the media on May 31, the Thera said the country continues to face serious economic challenges and that overcoming them requires cooperation from all sectors.

He acknowledged that the Government may face difficulties in decision-making due to a lack of experience among some officials and ministers, but stressed that broader consultations with all stakeholders would help formulate effective solutions.

The Thera urged politicians to set aside party, ethnic and religious differences and provide full support to the President and the Cabinet in the national interest.

He warned that if Sri Lanka fails to recover within the next five years, future leaders may find it increasingly difficult to reverse the country's decline. He also called on the public to support national recovery efforts with patience and sacrifice.
