New Leadership for the Association of the Disappeared

A leadership election and consultation session for the Association of the Families of the Disappeared took place in Jaffna. 

Relatives from eight different districts, who have long sought justice for their forcibly disappeared loved ones, gathered with the aim of continuing their collective struggle and strengthening the movement. 

They selected new presidents and secretaries to lead their respective district associations.

During the meeting, Yogarajah Kanakaranjini was elected as the President for the North and East branches of the association, while C. Jenitra was appointed as Secretary. 

District-level appointments included C. Elangkothai for Jaffna, V. Amalanayagi for Batticaloa, V. Selvarani for Ampara, S. Sebasriyandevi for Trincomalee, C. Jenitra for Vavuniya, P. Veeramani for Mullaitivu, K. Kokilavani for Kilinochchi, and K. Udayachandran for Mannar.
