Coimbatore blast accused held in Karnataka

Tamil Nadu Police have arrested a key accused in multiple terror and communal murder cases, identified as Sadiq alias Tailor Raja, from Karnataka’s Vijayapura district. 

The suspect, who had evaded arrest for 29 years, was finally apprehended based on specific and credible intelligence by a joint team of the Anti-Terrorism Squad and Coimbatore City Police.

Sadiq is allegedly involved in several high-profile cases, including the 1998 Coimbatore bomb blasts that killed 58 people and injured over 250. 

He is also an accused in the 1996 petrol bomb attack in Coimbatore, which resulted in the death of jail warden Boopalan, the 1996 Nagore murder case of Sayeetha, and the 1997 murder of jailer Jayaprakash in Madurai.
