US hits Iran with fresh airstrikes

The US launched airstrikes against Iranian targets following Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan that killed two US service members. Ordered by President Trump, the strikes aimed to degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and retaliate against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. 

Iran warned of intensified conflict, accusing the US of violations and warning of consequences. The UAE called for de-escalation and dialogue, condemning attacks on civilian infrastructure amid rising regional tensions.
