The Tamil Nadu government announced a 25% salary increase for employees at TASMAC liquor outlets to reduce corruption and prevent customers from being overcharged. This measure aims to address frequent complaints of an extra ₹10 being charged per bottle.

Minister Vignesh highlighted that this is the first salary hike in 20 years and is intended to improve employee welfare, accountability, and reform state-run liquor shops. Further implementation details are yet to be announced.
