Outgoing Swiss Ambassador to Sri Lanka Dr. Siri Walt met Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees on July 4.

The Prime Minister thanked the Ambassador for his contribution to strengthening long-standing bilateral relations and cooperation between Sri Lanka and Switzerland during his tenure.

Discussions focused on expanding collaboration, particularly in technical and vocational education and training (TVET), to equip young people with industry-relevant skills and meet labour market demands.

The Ambassador noted that strengthening industry-oriented vocational education would improve workforce skills, generate employment opportunities and support Sri Lanka's long-term economic growth.

Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
