6.3-magnitude earthquake jolts China

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Qinghai province, China, causing one death and four injuries. The quake, centered in Haixi prefecture near Da Qaidam, occurred at 10 km depth and was followed by multiple aftershocks. 

Rescue teams of 320 personnel are searching for survivors. Infrastructure within 50 km remains stable, and coal mine workers near the epicenter were evacuated. Authorities supplied tents, food, and water, while assessing damage. The area includes the mineral-rich Emerald Lake, a popular tourist spot.
