Asset Declarations Must Be Submitted by June 30 or Face Legal Action – CIABOC
17-Jun-2026.
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has warned that individuals required to declare assets and liabilities must submit their annual disclosures by June 30, failing which they will face fines and court action.
Director General Ranga Dissanayake stated that the declaration of assets is not only the responsibility of the Commission but also a civic duty.
He noted that declarations must be submitted electronically through a centralised system, replacing the previous manual process. However, registration levels remain low.
He also emphasised that the requirement applies to trade union officials, media institution owners, editors, sports association officials, and employees of both state and non-governmental organisations.
