Iran rejects US ceasefire plan
07-Apr-2026.
Iran rejected a US-proposed ceasefire conveyed via Pakistan, demanding a permanent end to regional conflicts, including Lebanon and Gaza, alongside sanctions relief and recognition of its nuclear rights and control over the Strait of Hormuz.
"We won’t merely accept a ceasefire," said Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour, head of the Iranian diplomatic mission in Cairo.
Tehran insists on guarantees against future attacks rather than a temporary truce.
The US, led by President Trump, continues military actions and refuses to fully endorse the ceasefire plan, with Pakistan mediating communications amid escalating tensions between the nations.
