India's defence exports jump 63% in a year

India's defence exports surged to a record Rs 38,424 crore in FY 2025-26, a 62.66% increase from the previous year, driven by shipments to over 80 countries including the US and Israel. 

Defence Public Sector Undertakings led growth with a 151% rise, while private firms also grew steadily. 

Exporters rose 13.3% to 145 entities. The Defence Minister praised this milestone as a testament to India's self-reliant defence manufacturing and global market integration, supported by policy reforms and streamlined export processes.
