Man arrested in connection with fatal shooting at Gatineau bar

Police in Gatineau, Que., say they've arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the killing of a woman last month at a bar and strip club east of the city's downtown.

Bradley Girard is facing a charge of second-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Justine Larche, according to the Gatineau Police Service.

Her death marked the city's first homicide of the year, according to police.

Police said they arrested Girard in Nominingue in the Laurentians region on May 2 with the collaboration of the Sûreté du Québec. Girard was then taken to the Mont-Laurier police station to be interviewed by investigators. He will remain in custody ahead of a court appearance scheduled for May 4, police said.
