Meta VP Vishal Shah tells staff to use AI to work 5 times faster

Meta’s Metaverse team has been instructed to increase productivity by at least five times through the use of artificial intelligence, according to internal communications first reported by 404 Media. 

Vishal Shah, Meta’s Vice President of Metaverse, outlined the new expectations in a message to employees, pushing for AI to become a fundamental part of daily work. 

The company’s focus on the Metaverse has shifted in recent years, and this new approach aims to revitalise the division amid challenges and changing priorities.

Shah’s message emphasised a dramatic shift in work culture, with employees being told to "Think 5x, not 5 per cent." He further stated, "Our goal is simple yet audacious: make Al a habit, not a novelty. This means prioritising training and adoption for everyone, so that using Al becomes second nature, just like any other tool we rely on,” Shah wrote, according to 404." The note was accompanied by a graphic reiterating the fivefold productivity goal.
