Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas has a new mission: to build an internet browser so good that it can rival Google Chrome.

His latest brainchild, the Comet, the AI-first web browser, claimed to make online browsing smarter, faster, and more personal. But while Srinivas dreams of unseating Chrome’s dominance, the internet has already given him a dose of tough love.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the outspoken CEO took a direct jab at Google, writing, “The Internet is too important to be left in Google’s hands.”

The comment was accompanied by a video of the Comet browser.
