J&K court denies bail to accused in Pahalgam tourist rape case

A Jammu and Kashmir court has denied bail to an accused in the rape case of a 70-year-old tourist in Pahalgam. 

The court observed, 'This is a reflection of a moral decay and a sick mentality within society.' 

The incident occurred in April when the accused allegedly forced his way into the elderly woman's hotel room. 

The court emphasised that Kashmir's image as a paradise depends not only on its natural beauty but also on its moral and cultural values.
