The Paris prosecutor's office has stated that 'one of the men was taken into custody as he was preparing to take a flight from Charles de Gaulle Airport of Paris'.
The theft, which has been dubbed the 'heist of the century', involved four individuals who broke into the museum in broad daylight on October 25, stealing crown jewels estimated to be worth around 88 million euros.
The dramatic developments are being followed closely across the globe as French authorities continue their investigation into one of the most significant museum robberies in recent history.
