Climate change could slash global GDP by 24% by the year 2100

Climate change, a damaging phenomenon caused and worsened by human activity, could lead to massive losses for the global economy.

A recent study estimates that global per capita incomes could decline by as much as 24% by the year 2100. 

The research team arrived at this figure by comparing the future trajectory of unchecked warming to a scenario in which Earth’s relentless rise in temperatures halts.
