30-Aug-2025.

In Tamil Nadu’s Thiruppuvanam, located in Sivagangai district, copies of petitions under the state's Ungaludan Stalin scheme and other grievances submitted to the District Collector were found floating on the banks of the Vaigai river.
Videos of the incident went viral on social media. Responding to the uproar, the state government clarified that the recovered petitions were not originals but xerox copies of grievances that had already been resolved. Officials said an investigation is underway to determine how these duplicate copies ended up in the river.
A total of 13 petitions were recovered, six linked to the Ungaludan Stalin scheme and seven others submitted earlier with various requests.
