Eric Meyer Nominated as US Ambassador to Sri Lanka

With the term of current US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung, ending this August, President Donald Trump has nominated Eric Meyer as her successor.
The nomination has been submitted to the US Senate for approval.
Eric Meyer, a diplomat from California, currently serves as a senior official in the US Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.
He oversees the bureau's operations and coordinates US policies across countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka.
He has also held roles as Special Assistant and Senior Advisor within the same bureau.
