Inuvik operating room closed until June 30

Some patients in Inuvik will be transferred to Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife while service closures impact the operating room at the Inuvik Regional Hospital until June 30. 

In a notice on Jun 23, the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority said patients planning to give birth and have a C-section in Inuvik this week, or who are considered high risk and who are 36 weeks or more into their pregnancy, will be contacted so they can transfer their care to Stanton.  

Pre- and post-natal care will continue at the Inuvik Regional Hospital.
