Germany backs India's war on terrorism

India has a right to defend itself against terrorism, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said on May 23, condemning the deadly Pahalgam attack that left 26 civilians dead last month.
The German Minister's remarks came at a joint press conference with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Berlin. He emphasised the importance of maintaining the current understanding between India and Pakistan and called for a stable dialogue to resolve conflicts bilaterally.
“After military attacks on both sides, India, of course, has every right to defend itself against terrorism. The fact that the truce is now in place is something we appreciate very much," Wadephul said.
