Inhuman suffering: Women's panel chief visits riot-hit areas in Bengal

.

National Commission for Women (NCW) chief Vijaya Rahatkar, who visited the violence-hit areas in West Bengal’s Murshidabad and Malda, said on Apr 20 that the biggest victims of communal violence were always women and children, and they were threatened and attacked in the most inhuman manner.

Her remarks came after three people, including a father-son duo, died and thousands were rendered homeless in communal violence in Murshidabad and neighbouring areas triggered due to anti-Waqf Act protests.
