Seven-time Grand Slam winner Mats Wilander has called Novak Djokovic the best tennis player of all time following his triumph at the 2023 French Open. Djokovic beat Norway’s Casper Ruud in straight sets to win his 23rd Grand Slam title.

Speaking to Eurosport, Wilander said Djokovic has been the most consistent player in men’s tennis in the last 15 years. Djokovic now has the most number of Grand Slam titles in men’s tennis history, winning his 23rd Grand Slam at 2023 Roland Garros.

“More ATP 1000 titles than anybody else. The incredible thing about that is that he’s doing that as well. He’s won the most Grand Slams and he’s won the most ATP titles. So he’s been the most consistent player in the last 15 years. I hate the expression ‘GOAT’ even though I see a goat here. It’s what you bring to the sport and so on, and I don’t think we can separate the 'Big Three' when it comes to the greatest of all time. But the best of all time? We have him in front of us and it’s Novak Djokovic,” Wilander added.
