My boss should have not kissed me: Spanish footballer tells court during trials
.
Spain women's team member and World Cup winner Jenni Hermoso confronted the former Spanish football federation boss Luis Rubiales during his trials and denied that she agreed to the kiss between them right after their title win in Australia in 2023.
The incident took place during the awards ceremony of the World Cup as Rubiales received heavy backlash for the incident.
The former RFEF president has been accussed of sexual assault and attempting to coerce Hermoso, with the help of three other men, to declare that the kiss was consensual. Speaking at the trials on Monday, February 3, Hermoso said that the kiss shouldn't have happened, and it ruined the World Cup win for her.
"I knew I was being kissed by my boss and that should not happen in any social or work environment," Hermoso said of the encounter seen live by millions around the world at the 2023 World Cup awards ceremony in Australia.
"I think it was a moment that tainted one of the happiest days of my life," the 34-year-old forward told Madrid's High Court while Rubiales took notes without looking at her.
