Telugu superstar Allu Arjun and the makers of Pushpa 2 have announced a compensation of Rs 2 crore to the family of the child who was critically injured in the stampede during a screening of the movie in Hyderabad.

The child's mother, 36-year-old Revathi, died in the stampede that broke out at Sandhya theatre as Arjun arrived for the premiere of the movie on December 4.

While Rs 1 crore was given by Allu Arjun, Mythri Movies and director Sukumar gave Rs 50 lakh each. The compensation will be handed over to the family by film producer and chairperson of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, Dil Raju.

The compensation was announced by Allu Arjun's father, Allu Aravind, when he visited the KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad to check on nine-year-old Sri Tej. "I have some legal instructions not to interact with family members. So, I requested chairman Dil Raju to hand over the money," Allu Aravind said.

Aravind said Sri Tej was responding well to treatment and had been taken off the ventilator two days ago.
