The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Arif Virani, has announced the appointment of Simon Chamberland as a judge of the Superior Court of Quebec for the district of Montréal.
Born and raised in Montreal, Justice Chamberland holds both a Bachelor of Civil Law and Common Law from McGill University, which he obtained in 2005, following a Bachelor of Arts and Science (1998) and a Master of Philosophy (2001) from Université de Montréal. He was called to the Barreau du Québec in 2006.
Minister Virani expressed confidence in Chamberland's capabilities, stating, “I wish Justice Chamberland every success as he takes on his new role. I am confident he will serve Quebecers well as a member of the Superior Court of Quebec.”
