The owner of a NEET coaching center in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli has been caught on video beating students for allegedly sleeping in class, resulting in some sustaining minor injuries.

Police have registered a case against Jalal Ahmad after CCTV footage of the assaults went viral on social media. In the footage, Ahmad is seen using a stick to hit male students and throwing sandals at female students.

The incident reportedly occurred last month but only came to light after several students and a staff member filed complaints. Following the release of the video, Kannadasan, a member of the State Human Rights Commission, visited the coaching center to conduct an inquiry.
